9 January 2005, PCB pics here. Just a minor amendment. I found out one of my "Space Fever"s is actually a genuine1980 Nintendo Space Firebird. yaaaay, love this game, great sound on it. Was introduced to this game when I was young years ago at a place called Peppermint Park in Port Macquarie, NSW. Ahh the memories. :o) Happy New Year everyone. Scored some more boards recently:
MAME related: JoyMonkey has updated his fabulous 'rom sorter script' to .90. The utility is available here. What is it you ask, here is a snip about what it does. VMOVE.BAT is a simple batch file used to seperate vertically orientated MAME roms from the horizontal roms. Just extract the contents of the zip into your ROMS folder and run VMOVE.BAT - It will create a folder on your hard-drive called C:\ROMSVERT and then it'll move all the vertical roms you've got into it, all horizontal roms are left in your ROMS folder.

20 September 2004, Site update and upgrade. It was time to give it a fresh look. The animated gif were bugging me. So after 2 days working on it on and off, we have what you see now. Fire Fox is a alternative internet browser. I have been using it for awhile now and I can honestly say that I won't be going back to Internet Explorer anytime soon. Click the Fire Fox link above to try this browser out for yourself. Don't be scared, it's just a program like many others you have installed on your PC. It can be easily uninstalled with no troubles what so ever. It's not a 'all invasive program' like Internet Explorer. Give it a go, you be glad you did.

27 April 2004, With the help of my friend Geoff I finally got around to testing my Super Bug and Express Raider and they work fine. I didn't have a B&W monitor for testing the Super Bug on and no spares for knocking up a Data East harness. Wanted, good prices on Jamma fingerboards, 18 & 22 way edge connectors.
14 April 2004, Yesterday the mail came and I received my 1977 Atari Super Bug lot. It was a good win. Remember this game is 27 years old now. Pictures here. Lot included:

15 December 2003, Lord
of the Rings pinball has arrived on the Gold Coast, Australia. The owner/operator of Lord of the Rings pinball is Shane from Austral Amusement Co . He had just picked the machine up after several where flown into Sydney from Stern in America, when I got the call saying "oi, I got one. Drop round for a few games before it goes out on site". Needless to say I was there in a flash. I have played The Simpson's Pinball Party and Terminator 3, but this pinball is finished beautifully, and the back glass artwork is stunning. The playfield is very nicely done and the flow of shots for various modes is great. Stern's best effort so far. The manufacturers date is 4 Dec 2003.
The Lord of the Rings pinball is getting the playfield mylared by Gordon Williams of Pinball Rescue. While at his house I discovered a very nice collection of EM games. The highlights for me were the Sega Helicopter and a 1957 Bally De Luxe Club Bowling. Click here for pictures
17 November 2003, JoyMonkey has updated his fabulous 'rom sorter script' to .77. The utility is available here. What is it you ask, here is a snip about what it does. 28 October 2003, "HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY" (***bright

A really big thanks goes out to him, cheers. :o) So here today I can announce that www.thepinnyparlour.com is going live today when the upload is complete. (Great birthday present).

28 October 2003, Big story recently for me is new domain name and host. Details of that shortly. Finally on the 29th October this little project site turns a whole 2 years old. A whole heap of things have happened to me regarding arcade and mame in 2 years. This site has recorded the journey. Finally got one 2 of my most wanted boards, IPM Invader and Crazy Kong. New pcb's are:
Pictures of the boards are here. An operator friend of mine in Queensland has had a nice rare dedicated Scramble come through his workshop while I was on a visit. I took a few pictures of it here.
12 October 2003, Update on my Arcade Controller for PC Gameport, 'Controller Box'. Finally made a decent control panel overlay. Click here
05 October 2003, Have been thinking
of making a controller with joysticks for my PC. With the help
of this page, Jivin'
Jim's Jazzy Jumpin' Java-less Page, I have been able to
rig up a arcade controller that connects to the 15 pin, D-connector
gameport of my PC. 4 button, with 2 joysticks, (2nd joystick
hooked up to fire buttons - Robotron). Thanks to Super
Mapppy for his help and for pointing me to Jims
web site for the infomation. Pictures of my 1983 Seibu Denshi Stinger pcb are here. JoyMonkey has updated his 'rom sorter script' to .74. The utility is available here at the downloads page.
17 September 2003, New PCB is 1983 Seibu Denshi Stinger. Will try and convert to a Wiz if possible. Pics of my Arkanoid and Street Fight (Empire City:1931) are available here.
07 September 2003, New PCB's are: 1986 Taito Arkanoid. Have always wanted this game. Second is 1986 Seibu Kaihatsu Street Fight (Empire City:1931). I got 2 now. I was hoping it was going to have the Empire City:1931 title screen but it hasn't. Mame.73 is out. JoyMonkey has updated his fabulous 'rom sorter script' to .73. The utility is available here. On the 30th of July I had said that I won a Route 16. It turns out that it was not a Route 16. The PCB has since been identified as a 1982 Yachiyo Electronics Mole Attack and has been sold.
11 August 2003, Big update today. Mame.72 is out and today I got a nice 26" horizontal 4 player cab. It will be for Mame when time permits. Click here to check it out.
08 August 2003, Austral
Amusement Co have
announced that Stern
Pinball's latest, Terminator
3 is now on the Gold Coast. This pinball is located
at P&P Chicken Bar and Cavery, Shop 1 on the corner of Price
St Nerang (Petros), across the road from the Mobil.
05 August 2003, Minor site update, i.e.: 'For Sale/Wanted' and 'Miscellaneous Arcade' pages added.
30 July 2003, New PCB is 1981 Tehkan/Sun-(Centuri Licence) Route 16. I won this today so I await it's arrival. Today I got to play Stern Pinball's latest offering, Terminator
3. It is very nice looking machine and is reminiscent
of old Williams machines in sound and beautiful playfield. After
a quick few games and getting a feel for it, I found the shots
where aplenty and flow is excellent. The RPG feature in the
headbox is fun, as is the nice effect of the blue light in T-X
challenge mode. The steal ramps are nice and clean looking,
and really look great on the playfield. The tight and twisting
ramps are fun shots to make.
28 July 2003, Thanks to Shane from Austral Amusement Co. The 2 x unknown control panels have been identified as Berzerk and River Patrol. Thank mate. :o) Check them out, click here.
24 July 2003, I won 5 assorted LAI control panels recently and today they arrived. 1 x Donkey Kong, 2 x Ghostmuncher / Uniwars, 1 x River Patrol, 1 x Berzerk. To check them out and maybe help me identify the unknowns, click here.
13 July 2003, Today I received
2 fully working low boys in good condition. These were free
from a friend who needed the room. He removed both games and
I got everything else. Thank Sean ;o)
06 July 2003, Mame .71 is out and JoyMonkey has updated his fabulous 'rom sorter script' to .71. The utility is available here.

23 April 2003, New PCB I scored is 1988 Sega Altered Beast. Today, with help of my friend, I got around to testing out the old B&W 1976 Gremlin coMotion pcb. It works great, :-) not bad for a 27 year old piece of hardware. The other board I thought maybe a Gemlin bootleg, is not working but we suspect it to be one of the dual games like 'Invinco / Deep Scan' or 'Invinco / Head On 2'.
18 April 2003, Got some more PCB's today, one is an old B&W 1976 Gremlin board called 'coMotion'. It's a 4 player version of 'Blockade'. The two other boards I'm yet to identify. I think one is a Gremlin bootleg board, and the other is a board made by ARTIC that I'm yet to identify.
08 April 2003, [ANNC]-- The 'VerticalMameList' is officially finished. JoyMonkey's Rom Sorter Script is my preferred utility. Fantastic
News: Fellow
Mamer (JoyMonkey) has been hard at
work creating a very easy way to sort out Vertical,
and Horizontal Mame Games. He has called it 'Vertical
/ Horizontal Rom Sorter Script', and I have to say
it works brilliantly well. So well in fact, that if he continues
to update it with each new release of Mame, I will be ending my 'VerticalMameList' as this is just
the thing I was looking for (at the time of building my own cabinet),
but was never around. Links page updated.
12 March 2003, Have updated the 'VerticalMameList' to coincide with the release of Mame.66 List availble from the 'Downloads' page,
10 March 2003, Finally
got my new PCB's in the mail today: WWF
Superstars and Nastar. Click here to see them.
23 February 2003, I went to play the new Stern 'Simpsons Pinball Party'. What a fun game, it's great and has alot of features which really increases ones enthusiasm to play more. This machine is on the Pacific Motorway, southbound at Reedy Creek Ampol Gold Coast. (nice Galaga there as well). Austral
Amusements (Gold Coast) owner/operator Shane, gave me some
nice pinball flyers today, so a big thanks goes out to him. :)
21 February 2003, Got
some nice screen perspex's today. Mid 1970's Sprint 2 and Atari/LAI Firetruck.
Nice edition to the walls they will be. Also, some pics of my Mortal Kombat 3 marquee, and my Strider PCB as well as the Sprint 2 and Firetruck can be seen here. New PCB's are: Nastar and WWF Superstars.

29 January 2003, I just scored my most wanted game PCB, a Capcom Strider. I was instantly hooked on the gameplay, sound, and the excellent graphics when it came out (circa 1989). Thanks to John.
Have updated the 'VerticalMameList' to coincide with the release of Mame.64 List availble from the 'Downloads' page,
22 January 2003, Purchased a Sega Wonderboy PCB. I like this game, it took alot of my money when I was going to high school. Pics are here.

09 January 2003, Have been in the process of updating my 'Mame / Jamma Cocktail' with Fraggals famous boot CD with AdvanceMame and ArcadeOS version 2.5. To read all the drama, click here.

06 January 2003, New pictures are up on my 'Arcade Collection' page of my Sega Bank Panic, Rastan, Tiger Heli and Data East Shoot Out PCB's. Some new pictures of my Mame / Jamma cocktail are up on my 'Mame Projects' page. Scored a new hand-held, a Tiger Electronics Street Fighter 2 in good, working condition. Click here to see a pic
04 January 2003, I have
compiled a list of vertical games (mostly original and with no clones)
supported in Mame.62. The purpose of this is to enable vertical monitor
Mame users, and/or, small hard disk drive Mame users, to use only
vertical Mame games and keep HDD space to a minimum.
01 January 2003, HAPPY
NEW YEAR! New PCB's I have are: Bank Panic & Shoot Out. Pics up soon Las Vegas
(The Purple Mame Page),has
one of the best Mame pages for information that I have seen. ArcadeOS & AdvanceMame users will particularly
find this site useful. Jammed packed with tech info, tips and of course
LV's new ArcadeOS version 2.5.
18 December 2002, Picked up a much sort after Atari Lynx cart today, Pac Land. Click here to visit my Lynx page. Also got a Tomy Caveman, and a Bandai Electronics Frisky Tom in great condition. Click the follwing to see Caveman, Frisky Tom.
08 December 2002, New PCB's Rastan & Tiger Heli. Web Site has undergone some updates on everypage. Mainly with images being reduced to save load time. Game names are linked with image of games. Be sure to check them out. Well, Russ at Filtek stuffed up and sold my friends PCB (Lax Dig Dug) and my Nastar PCB DOH!, to someone else. Mistakes happen now and then. My friend and fellow collector Geoff, (check his site by clicking here), has sold me his Rastan and Tiger Heli PCB's. Cool! :-)
11 November 2002, This site
celebrated it's 1st Birthday on the 29 October. I have archived older
garb,(news), with a link at the bottom of this page.
18 October 2002, I won recently a Konami Super Baskerball PCB in great working order.
17 October 2002, I recently purchased some more hand held stuff. Why?. It was part of my childhood as well. Games are, another Tomy Scramble, Gakken Puck Monster, Atari Lynx bag including 2 Lynx II's and heaps of game carts. Click here to check them out.
13 September 2002, Over the last few weeks I have picked up some cool hand-held games. These include a Nintendo Tropical Fish Game & Watch, a Tomy Scramble, and a Atari Lynx system with 7 games. Click games for infomation.
07 August 2002, I have
decided to showcase Australia's Own Pinball and Coin-Op Collectors
Magazine, ARCADE
& FLIPPER REVIEW.
13 July 2002, The other
day I picked up a 20" Blue Low Boy cabinet. It's in superb condition
with a JAMMA+ harness, and a SNK Neo-Geo Slot 1 board with carts, The Path of the Warrior
(Art of Fighting 3), and Alpha Mission
II. Click here for all the
information.
05 July 2002, Picked up some Nintendo Game & Watches off Ebay the other day. They included a Donkey Kong, Fire and a Octopus. Click here for more on them
22 June 2002, Just uploaded some pics and details of my PCB collection in 'Arcade collection' link. Also included is my wanted section I need help tracking down a component for my Great 1000 Mile Rally 2 PCB. I have included some pics to show what part is need. The black component is split down the middle causing the game to not register credits and not allow 'fire' button imputs. If you can help, let me know.
16 June 2002, Heaps of images added of my collection.
07 June 2002, Tonight
while perusing the classifieds, I saw a advertisement that I had to
investigate. An old upright LAI cabinet with a Time Pilot marquee
and Act Fancer PCB was what I had found in great condition. The image
is messy but the sound is there and I hoped to find out whether the
PCB is a Time Pilot. Although it doesn't look good, as the PCB is
to new for a Time Pilot. I
would like to find out what this machine originally was. ***UPDATE*** If you know what the cabinet and control panel is oringinally, let me know.
24 May 2002, Today I
picked up some arcade memorabilia. Found, in a video store sale was
none other than 'PAC-MAN and family', the Hanna-Barbera cartoon circa
1982. This was shown in Australia as I used to love watching it every
Saturday morning. I actually scored 2 of the same video.
Episodes on
the tape include:
I watched it, (I must confess), and I enjoyed it, lol. There's nothing like Pac-man and family chomping the ghosts. I must not forget Pepper (Ms Pac-man), Baby Pac, Sour Puss the Pac-cat, and my fav Chomp Chomp the Pac-dog.
10 May 2002, Today I scored an old Binatone Colour TV Game MK 10 Home gaming console (circa 1977-78?). This manufacturer was licensed from Magnavox to make these in Britain (the console even has a little sticker on the back saying "This product is licenced by magnavox". It's a PONG based system with primitive 2 player joystick and button. It uses a GI 'Pong in a chip' #AY-3-8610 chip (this chip contains 10 veriation of Pong). It's in excellent condition and only needed the internal speaker to be wire back to the circuitry. I fired it up and it works perfectly so I had a few games and it bought back the memories. BTW it costs me $5 Australian.
09 May 2002, Today I went for a trip to the tip (dump) and salvaged from certain landfill, a gutted Sega Enduro Racer. The game board, wire harness, monitor, marquee, handlebars (controller), coin door etc were gone. Other than that the cabinet is in remarkably good condition and the sideart is complete and is in excellent condition. WARNING: If trashing dedicated machines shocks and offends please dont read any futher. I know I have said in the past that I don't trash dedicated games but this is beyond my help, plus I'm not really trashing it that much. There is not much hope in restoring this dedicated back to it's former glory, (to many parts to hunt for), so I'm deciding to mame it. I'll fit a horizontal 20" monitor and do as little modifying as possible. I'll keep the sideart intact and NOT spray paint it. Very little will be cut into or hacked, apart from the control panel that will be drilled into to install 2 joysticks and 6 buttons per player, player 1 & 2 buttons. An IPAC will be installed for this. The purpose for not hacking the whole cab to pieces is that I cant bear to totally trash a dedicated completely. Maybe in the future someone might be prepared to try restoring this back to it's former glory.
17 Apr 2002, Today I picked up a really old (70's) home made PONG machine. It uses a GI PONG in a chip. I will probably strip this thing down and redo a new cab and modernize it. Don't panic it's a home made job, no wrecking any dedicated stuff here.
09 APR 2002, After some constructive criticism that I appreciate, I have rework the site as to make it compatible with other browsers. (Hope I achieved this)

15 Mar 2002, I have finally got the Mame / Jamma Cocktail Project underway. The plexi, artwork and sideclips have been fitted and it looks great (will have some pics soon). Now I just have to hook up the PC along with the JPAC, and hopefully it will all work. I'm a little worried about the 1 volt output the video card puts out to the monitor, I hope the monitor will work with low voltage. If not, its off to purchase a video amplifier from Ultimarc.
07 Mar 2002, Finally got a spare PC to go into the Mame / Jamma Cocktail Project. Just ordered the plexi for the top and purchased the side clips. Nearly ready to go. Wooohooo :o) Click here for more info on this

24 DEC 2001, Just won a Great 1000 Mile Rally game board on Stuff. Hope it arrives soon so I can check it out.
22 DEC 2001, Just purchased a second hand JPAC (in great condition) for $90 Australian. A saving of $34 on the retail price. This will be used in my Jamma cocktail cab to run MAME. 8 DEC 2001, Went for a trip to the local arcade in my town and found this conversion. It's a Terminator 2 converted to a Judge Dredd. It has Judge Dredd sticker side art slapped up the side and a Dredd marquee along with Dredd game board. Would be easy to revert back if needed. It's a really crap picture, sorry.
1 DEC 2001, The MAME/JAMMA Cocktail Project started with pictures and explanations
